Over nine months,
Nine long months,
Long painful months,
Since he’s been moved
In Solitary,
In the SHU*
Deprived of his humanity,
Of his family,
Yet, conditions have not improved
The G-men, the Marshals,
The Warden, his henchmen
Have never cared
Their indifference
Makes you sick
And to get a relief from a judge
Is like trying to teach an old dog
A new trick
Impossible, it proved
Ramadan Came
Every night was the same
Contemplating, reflecting, praying
For a hug,
From his young daughter
To pat her head,
Or share a story she read
To hold his wife’s hand,
To comfort her when necessary
Or give her a rose
On their anniversary
On the last day of fasting,
He was anxious
Wondering if his prayers were heard,
If someone has a conscience,
The family is reunited,
And their celebration is shared
At 5 o’clock,
He heard some noise,
A key was opening the lock,
Then came a distant voice
Your contact visit
Has finally been approved
