Once upon a time
In the Jungle World
A coyote was living
In Cougarland

Treated like dirt
It was only allowed to
Live with its brand

But whenever it tried to
Mix and fit in
They were dumped in
The burning sand

When cougars became angry
Coyotes paid the price
They were chased away
And couldn’t take a stand

On a hot summer day
Cougars attacked viciously,
Bloodied, coyotes ran away
Acceding to their demand

Tired and hungry
The coyotes reached
The top of a hill

They looked down below
The river was flowing
With plenty of food
In Lionville

They came down slowly
One by one
Started eating and
Playing with a thrill

But on one hot night
When the lions were away
The coyotes attacked
The cubs at will

They had no intention
Of sharing the holy land
Their only goal was
To take over and kill
