Dr. Sami’s First Broadcast Interview Since Imprisonment
Yesterday, Dr. Sami Al-Arian gave the first broadcast interview of his
four-year imprisonment to the nationally syndicated television and
radio show Democracy Now. As a result of the show, we received dozens
of emails from listeners and viewers around the country who pledged to
join the Rolling Hunger Strike in support of Dr. Al-Arian and to send
letters to officials to end the government harassment’s of him.

Dr. Al-Arian’s attorney, Peter Erliner, and his eldest daughter Laila
also appeared on the program.
Today is the 18th day of Dr. Al-Arian’s hunger strike, in which he has
lost over 20 pounds. More than 85 people have joined a rolling hunger
strike in solidarity with Dr. Al-Arian.
